GURPS Vikings #6: Land of Plenty

After a brief confrontation with the natives of Umlaut’s dreamland, the Norseman must once again face off against a cursed beast, this time against Nya Gwaheh, the Naked Bear. Once slain, they’re free to settle in the land of plenty and live out the rest of their days raising families, harvesting grain, and assisting the Beothuk battle their adversaries. Will Thor and Umlaut indeed settle down or will the Norns compel them to return to their Viking ways?
 

GURPS Vikings #5: The Tempest

Sailing in the direction of Greenland, the Vikings are caught in a devastating storm and struggle to save their ship and crew. When the storm finally passes and dawn arrives, they find themselves off course and approaching the coast of a new land. The trees match those of Umlaut’s dream, as well as the natives who promptly introduce themselves with arrows.
 
 

GURPS Vikings #4: We Can Be Heroes

Reaching Iceland, Thor and Umlaut come upon a settlement and receive a heroes’ welcome. Together with Kari’s brothers and Brother Brendan, the Vikings are sent on a quest by the village leader Ingolfur to kill a monster in its mountain lair. Facing their greatest challenge yet, some of the warriors choose to die in battle, while others choose to flee in defeat.

GURPS Vikings #3: Greaseheads

Having sailed from Norway with Kari and her brothers in a drakkar longship, the explorers eventually spot land. When they disembark onto one of the Zetland islands, they are confronted by the tattooed, grease-haired natives. After diplomacy fails, the Vikings are forced into a bloody battle. Afterwards, they retreat to their ship once again and escape further bloodshed. Sailing into a storm, the heroes finally come upon a strange shipwreck survivor.  
 

GURPS Vikings #2: Holmgang

Back in Trondheim, Thor and Umlaut discover that in their absence Smooth-Tooth has been spreading lies about them to King Harold. When Thor asks for permission to marry the king’s cousin Kari, it is decided that only a judicial battle will settle the matter. Accepting the ruling, the karls fight against Smooth-Tooth and his brother Yngwie Hump, only to later find themselves being run out of the village by the sore losers’ uncle Bolg the Bulge and a mob of his kin. Fortunately, Umlaut has had a dream of a strange new land awaiting them.   

GURPS Vikings #1: Death and Taxes

In the Norwegian region of Trondheim, foster brothers Thor Thorsson and Umlaut Topknot are sent away by King Harold Fairhair (after being influenced by the villainous Thorolf Smooth-Tooth) to collect taxes in the form of animal skins from the Finns. With the aurora borealis lighting the way, the two karls undertake their quest, encountering mushroom-munching reindeer and possible divine manifestations along the way.   
 

Risus (The Quest for Captain Kronos) #3: Stolen Youth

After attaining info on the movie’s last renter, the kids find themselves afflicted by a dark, debilitating force and struggle to reach his house on the outskirts of town. As the hour grows late, they try their hardest to convince the eccentric Mr. Kingsley to hand over his copy so that they may complete their vital mission.

Risus (The Quest for Captain Kronos) #2: Plan C

Having discovered the wrong tape inside the Captain Kronos case, the kids ride back to Valley Video in a furry, demanding answers and amends from the clerk. After an interesting conversation with another customer in the store, the boys attempt various methods of subterfuge in order to locate the missing movie.

Risus (The Quest for Captain Kronos) #1: Guy Fawkes Day

1980s Jupiter Springs, California: Junior high schoolers Plunger, Dickey, and Chip meet up at Plunger’s detached garage for a weekend sleepover. Well aware of Plunger and Dickey’s interest in vampires, Chip mentions an old movie he heard about called Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter. Due to its rarity in VHS format, Plunger knows the movie only by its legendary reputation, but now, with renewed interest, the three kids set out on a marshmallow fluff-fueled quest to find a copy before the night is over.
